Here is some more operating system news for you folks that own the BlackBerry Curve 9300. StarHub Ltd. has made 6.0.0.380 official for their customers, but remember, anybody can load this up by deleting the vendor.xml file.

Following behind the Bold 9700, the Curve 9300 now gets some love. It was just last week we saw the Curve 9300 get OS 6.0.0.380, which was supposed to be a fairly good build. Now, OS 6.0.0.418 has been leaked. We aren’t sure of the changes as yet, so be sure to let us know what you think.

It’s Curve 8520 Gemini!!

The first few recommended steps to do when you have one includes upgrading your OS to 5.0.0.681 (this is the latest version at the time when this article is written). It’s basically like updating your firmware in Mobo terminologies.

One thing for sure is not as easy as turning your palm from one side to another.. 🙂

In the following paragraph, you will find a list of sequential steps that one should do in upgrading their Blackberry. Failed to adhere to the steps may cause an unprecedented results.

I followed them and have proven that the steps got me where I want to be with my Blackberry. I hope you will find it useful too as I do.

Siapkan OS yang akan diupgrade, blackberry desktop managerdan laptop atau pc.
Download OS dari website Blackberry Firmware atau categoryBlackberry OS Firmware BerryIndo ke PC anda
Setelah download, klik untuk Install OS ke PC yang akan diupgrade ke PC. Restart PC anda.
Hapus vendor.xml di C drive -> program files -> common files -> research in motion -> app.loader
Back up data handheld Blackberry ke PC atau laptop dengan Blackberry Desktop Manager, Baca Cara BackUp Blackberry »”>Backup Blackberry dengan Desktop manager.
Matikan network copot micro sd (optional)
Wipe handheld (optional hanya untuk hanheld yang memang sudah bermasalah) di Blackberry dengan cara option -> security options -> general settings -> pencet tombol menu BB -> wipe handheld. Tunggu sampai dengan proses wipe kelar. Kalau OS masih yg 4.2 wipe include 3rd party, kalau OS 4.5 tidak usah. Tapi kalau tidak yakin, wipe semuanya daripada crash.
Nyalakan desktop manager, colok Blackberry nya ke desktop manager.
Desktop manager akan otomatis detect untuk synchronize data, lalu akan otomatis check for updates yang muncul OS versi terbaru sebagai updates/upgrade, Ikut petunjuk. (kalau tidak terdetect, restart lagi PC dan restart desktop manager. NB: Desktop Manager harus distart dan buka dari main menu

10. Kalau desktop manager masih tidak mendetect OS baru, tutup desktop manager dan masuk ke tempat hapus vendor xml, klik loader.exe dan ikuti petunjuk.

11. Tunggu sampai benar2 nyala dan booting sampai dengan home screen. Jangan cabut kabel atau mainin kabel data.

12. Setelah OS telah diupdate, anda harus setting kembali, time, emails account settings, wifi dll…
